Participants stay in residence halls or furnished shared apartments. Both options are located within commuting distance of the classroom building at Universita di Firenze. Housing options are subject to availability. Students will be placed in apartments of two to six other students of the same sex in double or single occupancy rooms.
MLSA will try to accommodate students' requests regarding housing and roommates, but requests cannot be guaranteed. If you have a specific flat-mate request, please inform us as soon as possible, and we can place you in the same apartment or nearby.
Information about the type of housing assigned, location, and additional amenities will be sent to participants after being admitted into the program.
Meals are included for those participants who are placed in the residence halls. For those participants placed in apartments, meals are not included; however, each apartment has a kitchen complete with stove/oven, refrigerator, cooking utensils, and in most cases a microwave.
HOUSING ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Students who arrive on the scheduled arrival date within the arrival time window will be provided airport pickup. Students who travel in Italy or Europe prior to the arrival date must go to their assigned residence or apartment on the scheduled arrival date on their own.
Participants must vacate the residence or apartment on the scheduled date of departure. Please do not plan to arrive at your residence before the listed date, or stay after the listed date. No exceptions will be made.

As a general rule, no changes in the assigned housing are permitted once the housing has been established, approved, and confirmed. Only in some cases and special circumstances will changes be allowed. A penalty may be established for breaking the agreement—in addition to any other fees originated by a change. Changes would include: from family to apartment or by leaving housing assigned by the MLSA office. No housing arrangements will be made for participants bringing children with them.
